Monday 2 January 2012

Well, with the Christmas season officially over and the tree packed up for another year, its time to look ahead to 2012. I'm still riding the crest of motivation that I had in Sydney, so I figure if I set goals and aims for the year now, I'll be more inclined to stick to them!

The first goal I'm setting myself is to do the Lofty climb twice a week. Every Thursday morning at 6am, and once on the weekend, depending on Bernie's roster. It's a great calorie burner, and a gorgeous sight that early in the morning. If nothing else, I'll be getting out in nature and breathing in crisp clean air.

I plan on making 2012 the year for self improvement, both inside and out. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to achieve this, but might look at doing some classes or taking up a hobby to broaden my mind. I'm not an arty/crafty type but used to enjoy cross stitch, so I might possibly dust off the wool and finish one I started about 5 years ago! I might even finish knitting Bernie's jumper that I began 4 years ago!! I'm a great one for starting things but not so good with seeing them through to the end!!

I'm also hoping to have a diary chock full of social occasions to attend. Now that Tara is older, we can start looking at getting out a bit more. And with the wider range of friends I've made in 2011, I'm sure we can find some things to keep us a bit more busy!! I don't want another year of sitting home on a Saturday complaining of being bored!! I've done that for too many years!!

This year I turn 38 and plan on making it one of the best yet. I've had more bad years than good years, so I'm taking my new found empowerment to make sure I make things happen!!

I might look for a higher paying job, with the aim to save for an overseas trip next year. Hell, I've never even left the country!! I'd like to discover the world with my children, and they are at a great age to learn about other cultures and try new experiences.

So as the second day of 2012 grows slowly to a close (and hopefully cools down some!!), I think I'm in the right place to go full steam ahead!!

Happy New Year (and happy New Me!!)
